Paul Newman, né le 26 janvier 1925 à Shaker Heights (Ohio) et mort le 26 septembre 2008 près de Westport (Connecticut), est un acteur, réalisateur, producteur et scénariste américain.
Tournant dans une soixantaine de films, il a notamment remporté l'Oscar du meilleur acteur pour sa performance dans La Couleur de l'argent (1986), le Prix humanitaire Jean Hersholt, un Golden Globe du meilleur réalisateur pour Rachel, Rachel (1968), ainsi qu'un Cecil B. DeMille Award et un Oscar d'honneur pour l'ensemble de sa carrière.
Citoyen engagé et philanthrope, Paul Newman a également joué un rôle important dans le mouvement pour les droits civiques dans les années 1960 et a soutenu de nombreuses œuvres caritatives.
